ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THEIR ADMINISTRATORS. A ROYAL COMMISSION TO BE SET UP. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Auckland, December 22. A deputation representing various temperance and religious bodies interviewed the Premier this morning requesting the Government to appoint a Royal Commission to investigate allegations made respecting tile ntiiiiinistiatiou «i' the laws in connection willi the granting of hot--1 licenses. Mr Joseph Ward mi id grave charges had been made against certain Magistrates and ! Justices of the Peace, and it was the duty of (lie Government to have these charges investigated to ensure that the people of the Dominion should have pure administration of justice. He promised Unit a Royal Commission would be set up as soon -.,* possihVn lo investigate the specific- charges made, but he would not agree lo the commission nn-' dertaking a tour of the country to investigate the g"ii'i'ial administration of the licensing laws.
