A NARROW ESCAPE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, East Night. A quantity of gelignite stored in a building at tin- rear of Brown's store, U'rauera, 'exploded with terrilie force during the early hours of yesterday morning, tearing a largo hole in tho ground over which it lav. Fortunately none was injured, although Mr. William dale, who was sleeping only a short distance away, had a narrow 'escape and received a had shock. It is supposed that some phosphorous for rahbit poison lying close to the gelignite ignited the latter.
