IMMIGRATION.
LABOR COUNCILS DISAPPROVAL. Bj Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Some lime was spent by the Trades and Labor Council to-night in discussing the immigration policy of-the Government. The majority of the speakers expressed disapproval at the importation of immigrants into New Zealand, on the ground that there was no I work for them when they got here. It was stated that people were induced to throw up billets in the Old Country by flattering representations made of the prosperity of the Dominion, only to find when they got here that the ranks of l»bor in their particular line were overcrowded. A motion was carried bywhich the secretary was instructed to draw iip a circular letter on the suW ject for publication in English news-l papers.
