INDIGENT JEW'S DEATH
, ALLEGATIONS of neglect. By Telegraph—Press .Association. Duuediu. Last Night. In connection with the death of Nathan Barnett, who died in the po'lice wlla early this morning, Rev. A. T Chodowski (Rabbi) appeared before the Benevolent Trustees this morning, and said the manager of the benevolent institution had not shown proper att.. ltion to duty, in that he left deceased in a police cell all night, as he must have known the dangerous nature of deceas-1 ed's complaint (heart trouble). Mr Mec (manager of the institution) said imnie-/ diately deceased was missed four men were sent to search for him, but without avail At 10.30 p.m. he discussed the matter with the police and arranged that if Barnett were found at the latter hour he be kept at the station till morning. This morning lie was advised that the man was dead. It was decided that Mr. Chodowski be asked to ' make formal complaint and the matter . would be thoroughly sifted.
