Mr. Scott, secretary of the Central Postal Department, does not understand the statement made by the Australian manager of the Union Company regarding the unsatisfactory relationship of the Commonwealth with the Union (Jo. He says a nuiulier of tentative proposals have been made, and the Government has communicated with the Canadian Government concerning tlieiu, but has not received any reply.
