LAWN TENNIS.

VICTORIAN SINGLE CHAMPIONSHIP WIN FOR WILDING. Received 24, 0.25 a.m. Melbourne, November 23. Wilding won the singles championship of Victoria, beating Alexander, 4—li, 6_o, o—2, o—2. The game was a brilliant and fitting termination to the tourney. It demonstrated how a physically good player will triumph over his equal so far as actual play is concerned, but inferior in bodily strength. Wilding was a giant. Alexander was just an average human being. After the first set the American was never in it. One of the features was—for good players—the inaccurate service of both. There were no fewer than nine double faults in four sets. Alexander's head work at times was faulty. Wilding won seven games in succession.
