THE HUCI3 OF BEJGK. HOTEL PROPRIETORS THREATENED By Telegraph.—Press Association/. Christchurch, Lust Night. A mass meeting of the workers of Lyttelton waa held to-day, when it was decided to inform the local hotel proprietors that unless the price of beer was reduced to 4d per pint the workers present or represented at tire meeting would give a block vote in favor of no-license.
Nelson, Last Night. A declaration lias been issued by the Bishop of Nelson, all save one of the Anglican clergy in the city, and all tho nonconformist ministers, urging the elect-ors to vote for the discontinuance of the liquor traffic at the local option poll. 1
