PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY.
HOME RESPONSIBILITIES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Duncdin, Last Night. The Presbyterian General Assembly opened to-night. There was a large attendance of delegates. The incoming Moderator (licv. J. Chisholm, of lto - lyn) delivered an address. He took as his subject, "Back to the Home," and in the course of it dealt with the necessity for parental control and for carrying on Christian work amongst the young. He said the prommcnc! given in the assemblies to schemes for winning children while at home was overlooked, whereas the churches' energy should be devoted to directing a new revival of family piety and home training. They lifted the burden of responsibility from parents by professing to do for children in Sunday school or Bible class what could be done only iu the home. If the Church could capture the homes subsequent victories would be easily won.
