The Governor of Victoria and Mr. Ewing (the Commonwealth Minister for Defence), and Mr, .Best (Vice-President of the Federal Executive) are made Commanders and Knight Bachelors. Received 9, 11.15 p.m. London, November 9. Messrs. Joseph Pease and Herbert Samuel McLaren (Commoners) and Sir E. Clarke have been appointed Privy Councillors, and Mr. Crampton (the sculptor) has been created a Knight.
