ASSESSMENT COURT.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunediu, Last Night. Practically every legal lirin in Dunedin was represented at, Mosgiel to-day, when the Assessment Court sat to hear two hundred and forty-odd objections lodged in connection with the classilicalion lists recently compiled by me mieri Drainage Board for rating' purposes. Ninety per cent., probably, of the number of persons enrolled as ratepayers have objected to their classifications, and the majority of these have engaged solicitors to light their cases for them. The greater part of the sitting was do voted to argument regarding the matter of procedure with the result that the Court rose with only one objection partly heard, although in numerous eases the, decision given in one appeal will serve many, owing to the conditions hj» ing similar . It is not expected that the Court will complete its heavy task .in less thaa a fortnight.
