THE TAUMAKUNUI SEAT. (Special to "News"). Kawhia, Friday. Mr. W. T. Jennings had a splendid meeting here on Wednesday night, Mr. Jonathan, chairman of the Town Board presiding. The candidate spoke at length, and was given a good hearing, lie explained in detail the position of Maori lands, and the need for settling .that.question. The Kawhia district ,would, he said, be certain to go ahead by leaps and bounds if the matter were .dealt with fully and more rapidly. The settling of the iiatKo iand question would be beneficial alike to this district and to the Dominion as a whole, and he anticipated much good would come from the legislation framed last session. A vote of confidence and thanks was carried by acclamation on the motion of Mr. ft. H. Maelvenzie. of Opanaru, seconded by Mr. 11. Gregg, of Kirilehere.
