UNITED GYMNASIUM CLUB.
ANNUAL CARNIVAL. A full house greeted the United Gymnasium Society at the Theatre Royal last evening, -when they produced their third annual carnival. The club has great progress during the year. Mr, Lints, the instructor, and members •re to be congratulated upon the •tate ol efficiency they have attained and the first-class programme submitted. The statuary .pyramids by the men was perhaps the most interesting feature. The ladies appeared in dumbbell and dub exercises and ladder pyramids, the men contributing dumbbell *nd Swedish exercises and trick -work on the Soman rings, parallel and horixdntal.har, and military horse. Their trick work was clever. Mr. Lints was at ; Ms best in a clever exhibition of electric {globe swinging. Master Ronnie Lints gave a most interesting performance on the Soman rings and the parallel and horizontal liars, being assisted'in tins by Masters Willie Elliot (clown) and Gordon lints (dummy). The Whiteley Orchestra, under Mr. C. Lawn, played a number of selections during I the evening; and Miss E. Carthew played the accompaniments. Mr. N. K. HcDiartnid acted as stage manager. i
