WESTPORT PERJURY TRIAL.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hokitika, Last Night. > The perjury case was continued. Ilaakoiisen, the prosecutor, gave evidence generally supporting the information. Lily Pcarec', a little girl of nine, gave evidence very intelligently as to Connolly's visit to the fish shop, where j he said he had knocked out a man be- I cause his assailant had drawn a knife oa him. The evidence went to show that at that time Hallincn and Anderson were at the theatre. Percy Ciflvon, gvwi;.».- at Wostport, in the course of his evidence, said there was a good deal of argument and disagreement among tile police over the case. He denied some of the statements by leading police officials, as to alleged statements made by witnesses.
The case for the prosecution will! close to-morrow morning.
