Bridget Ellen Gallagher, a young woman, the death of whose child formed the subject of an enquiry by tilic District Coroner recently, appeared at the .Police Court this morning before Mr. ,V. G. Day, S.M., charged with making n false declaration in regard to the child's birth to the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and to Mr. It. \V. BiJiop, S.M., when applying for the child to he exempted from vaccination. The accused pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was allowed.

SELLING LTQUOR WITHOUT A LICENSE. Christchureh, Last Night. Ella Ih'gan, a full-blooded Indian woman, who resides in Peterborough street, appeared before Mr. V. 0. Day, S.M., at the Police Court this morning on a charge of selling liquor on September Ifltli without a ffeense. Frederick Wilson, a cook employed at the police station, said that he visited defendant's house on September lflth in company with a friend. They each obtained a glass of beer for which they paid Is fid. Station-Sergeant Johnson said that he executed a, search warrant and found three gallons of beer on the premises. The Magistrate imposed a fine of £lO and costs.
