ARBITRATION COURT.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. I Wanganui, Last Night. At to-day's sitting of lift Arbitration. Court, Mr. Ala-cliay raised a fresh contention in reference to the Castleelill' strike eases. He pointed out that tin registration of the Wanganui Meat Workers' Union had oeen cancelled in February, 1000, and a new union formed in July of the same year. The union, having become defunct, the award had ceased to exist, and me formation of, a nsiw union had not revived it. There, being no award, it was no offence tq strike. His Honor observed that if the facts were as stated there seemed, little doubt but that tho cases fell to the ground. Mr. Hutton, for the Labor Department, stated that the point raised by Mr. Mackay. (had taken him by surprise, and he asked for time to wire to Wellington, and ascertain who, ther the registration had been proper, ly cancelled. To this the Court agreed, and the cases were further adjourned till to-morrow.
