The amendments made by the House to llic Declaratory Judgments Bill were agreed to. tile inaiigahua C'ooiily Bill was put through committee, read a third time, and passed. The Matamala- County Bill, Ilokilika Harbor Amendment Bill, and Auckland (Symonds street) Cemeteries Bill were read a second time. Tile Attorney-General, in moving the second reading of tin- Wellington and Manawntu Railway Purchase Kill, ,„jd tile Premier had' made a creditable bargain with the owners of the line, which was also satisfactory to the people of the Dominion. He explained the provisions of the Bill, which have already been fully reported when before the House, The Hon. T. K. MacDoiiald complimented tilie Attorney-Onera I on tin; satisfactory arrangements the Gowrnmcut had made. The Hons. Mc-Cardle. Beeliau, Loughnan, Paul, and Jones also complimented the Government. Tiie Council adjourned at 4.»3.
