By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. A lire destroyed the Whangapora store and post office. Tab buildin", owned by W. Peddie, was insured for £2OO in the New Zealand office. The contents, owned by Robert Troughcar, were not insured. ATTEMPT TO BURN DOWN A BUILDING. Hastings, Thursday. A deliberate attempt was made last night to burn down Rickey's boardinglouse by placing shavings under the building and setting fire to them The inmates heard a noise and were able to rafo out the burning stuff before it set light to the budding. It is stated that the police have a clue.
