Auckland papers repeatedly report that the Tauriki case is still being inquired into. The latest is that "the whole matter will be probed to the bottom." The inquiry lias been on the boards for a long while now, and tiie promised sensational developments are still in the background. Tauriki is reported to be under offer to Mr. A. Rhodes, and the protracted inquiry leads one to the opinion that either the matter will take a deal of "probing to the bottom" or hasn't a bottom at all.
Quity; a number of local horses will be seen out at Marton on Wednesday ami Thursday. Bob Barlow takes down Supplement and Kura; P. Eva, Glenulliii and Sylvan Park; J. O'Driscoll, Bagatelle and Recreation"; and "Jervy" George will be represented by Kawinia, Ney, Waihuka, and Durability. Canterbury sportsmen arc very sweet on Bonny Glen for the New Zealand Cup.
