The New Zealand Accountants' Association, at its half-yearly meeting last week, decided to record the loss sustained by the death of Mr. T. 0. Kelsev, of New Plymouth, a member of tlie council, and an expression of appreciation of the services rendered to the association by the deceased. Tlie Hon. W. C. Carncross. of Eltlinni, has been awarded the Colonial Auxiliary I'orces' long-service medal. H t . is a captain on the active list, unattached, and lias completed twenty vears' service. -Mr. and Mrs. Clement Govett, of New Plymouth, and their daughters have arvived in England, after more than three months in the South of France, wlic.'c they were obliged to stav far longer than they had intended, owing to the illness of one of the girls. They expert to be some time in Tunbridge Wells, though they will probably go, ill t!i» meantime, for short visits'to friends in Scotland, and also Devonshire. Tluiv plans beyond that are rather undecided.
