BIG STRIKE FEARED.
OPPOSE WAGE REDUCTION. Received 27, 10.12 p.m. London, August 27. Seventeen thousand cardroom workers at Oldham have unanimously decided to oppose the 5 per cent, reduction in their wages. It is expected that other operators and spinners in Lancashire will decide similarly, involving the trade in one of the most serious conllicts in history.
