SCULLING.
ARRIVAL OF A RUST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. * Wellington, Wednesday. It. Arust, who has challenged \V.* Webb to race for the world's sculling channpionsliip, arrived from Sydney today. Tiie burly athlete does not seem to have any superfluity of flesh, but he says he scales nearly fifteen stone a:id will train down to thirteen. He will rest mostly for a fortnight, and will then begin light training. His ■heavier preparation will not commence till his trainer, Fogwcll, arrives, about six weeks before the date of the race. Anisl has not yet decided about the river on wliicii he will take exercise. He is in splendid health, and modestly hopes to justify tihe confidence of his Christchurch backers.
WEBB KEEPING FIT. Christchurch, Last Night. W. Wv.bb, the world's champion sculler, arrived from Wangnnui t'tlis morning on business. The champion,- who 'ouks lit and well, informed a reporter '.hat lie is keeping himself in condition by an ocasional pull on the river. He will return to Wangnnui in two or three weeks' time, and will then go into li&ht training.
