ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A SUDDEN DEATH. By Telegraph. -Press A-iSociation. Duneain, Last Night. Henry Fordham Taylor, (13 years old, residing at NorWi-east Valley, ctied suddenly early this morning. Deceased, who was a married man, had been suffering from a cold for the last fortnight, but did not seek medical aid or take to his bed. faIiIUOUS SHOUTING ACCIDENT. Christchurch, Last Night. A serious accident occurred at Kangiora about noon yesterday. A young man named J. Whitmorc, aged 21 years, came Irom tSic North Island; with a friend named Hall, and was staying with the latter's uncle (Mr. A. Busing). During tne morning the young men were shooting at a target. Whitmorc was standing in the doorway of a shed and Hall was a short distance away to the left. WWtmore/ iirod a snot and stepped quickly out of the doorway to ascurtain the result. Just at that moment Hall fired and the bullet struck Whitmoro in the neck below and behind tlic left ear, passing through the right eye and shattering the eyeball. Whitmore was removed to a nursing home, where lie was attended by a medical man, who removed the eye. Little hope is entertained lor his recovery. Whitmorc has no relatives in New Zealand, A FARMER KILLED. Wellington, Last Night. Tho police are advised that James Miller, a farmer of Waikercru, in the Pahiatua district, was killed through a log rolling on him. Deceased and his brother were crosscutting the log when it broke suddenly.
