FORCIBLY EJECTED.
A LAND BOARD MEMBER. liy Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. A scene occurred at the meeting o, the Hawke's Bay Land Board to-day, which ended in the ejection of Eustace Lane, the representative of the Crown tenants. During a discussion ol an application for trausier ol tne lease of a section, Lane dul'ered from the majorilv, and said that the transfer might be reeommqnded to the Minister for apnroval. In the course of the discussion, Lane made a remark to the oll'eet that sonic members oi tne Board were not competent to decide as to the proper course to.pursue. He refused U\ withdraw the remark, and the meeting was adjourned to allow him time fop, reflection. When the Board resumed in the afternoon Lane still refused to withdraw his remark, and eventually Ifche Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr. 'H, *C«Ht)j fialled upon the Board's secretary to reniove bane. The secretary obtained the assistance of tilie chiei clerk, and they each took Lane by an arm. He rose" without resistance and was escorted out of the room.
