ANOTHER STRIKE.

A sensation was caused at Kaitanga(a yesterday afternoon when it became known that the truckers at Kjiitangata mine had refused in a body to truck, it appuars one of their number, Allan Whittaker, was "sacked" for leaving iliis place on Saturday without permission, and as the boys did not consider "management's explanation satisfactory, tliev refused to work until he was reinstated. The trouble happened just as the afternoon shift reached the pit bottom and were to start work, and as a consequence of the deadlock, the mine was thrown idle for the shift. The management considered taker unsuitable and unable to do the work, and gave thai, as a reason for his dismissal. The truckers, on the other hand, contend thai he can do the work equally as well as the average. Som« confusion was caused down the mine as some of the truckers left their horses where they stood and came out with the rest.
The mine manager was present at a big meeting of the truckers last night, at" which the situation was discussed. The manager said lie would not unreservedly Reinstate Whittsiker,.. but was willing'to take his ease into consideration if he applied for work. After the departure of the manager, the. truckers decided Miat unless Whittaker was reinstated tlieV would not go_ back. The ■miners went on the morning shilt a-, usual to-day, and about eight truckers accompanied tilieni. There is a. general belief tliat the strike will lizzie out.
