THE INSURANCE CLAIMS.

DECISION OF THE PRIVY COUNCIL. Received 5, 0.50 p.m. i _,, London, August 5. The Privy Council refused to reverse the judgment of the Supreme Court of Jamaica relating to the claims arising from the earthquake on the Scottish Union National Fire Insurance Company, which contended that the fires were caused by earthquakes, mascing the exemption clause applicable. The respondents contended that the fires were accidental. The appeal was dismissed. The decision was received it Kingston (the capital of Jamaica) with great demonstration.
