| Mr. A. E. A. Clarke, whose health has been causing his friends some anxiety for some time past, is now convalescent. Air. A. Miller Potts, formerly organist at ot. Mary's Church, has been appointed organist at Christ Church, Waugautii. The Pa tea Press reports that another old colonist in the person of Mr. John Kogcrs passed away on Sunday. Deceased, who was SO years of age, was born at Sinui llelstoiic, Cornwall, England, and came to New Zealand some tiS years ago. He took up land close to New Plymouth about 40 years ago, j and at the tune of his death was still interested in tanning pursuits. Deceased was a good stamp of the early pioneers, and during his residence in the Taranaki district made many friends, with whom lie was very popular. He leaves a grown-up family of four sons and live daughters. Deceased will lie buried in the Omata cemetery to-day ("Wednesday).
