BRIiISIIERS LEAVE FOR SYDNEY. PRESENTATION TO THE BRITISH CAPTAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Lust Night. The British football team left, hero this evening for Sydney by the s.s. Victoria.

Vassall missed the boat, and will go to Wellington, leaving there by steamer on Friday for Sydney. Prior to their departure the team were entertained at a farewell function by the officials of the New Zealand Rugby Union.

Mr. D. Gallagher, on behalf of the New Zealand teaiit which played in the third lest nuitcli, presented Mr. A. F. Harding, captain of the British team, with a gftld cigarette-case. The action of the New Zealand team was greatly appreciated by Jlr. Harding and his comrades.

AUCKLAND v. S. CANTERBURY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The following team has been chosen to represent Auckland against South Canterbury next Saturday:— Full-back: Rcnwick. The Star and Tukupa first juniors have decided to piny the match for the Dan O'Brien Shield'on Thursday afternoon on the Recreation Grounds as a curtain-raiser to the Old Timers' match for the benefit of au old footballer. The junior game commences at 1.30 p.m. Tukapn will be represented by tho following:—Uullot. Shield. Stohr, Dines, Stanuenng, McGiveu (2), Glyncs, Jones, JlcAllum, Cliarteris, Cukcr, Tickner, Perry, Sturmey; emergency, Hall.
