PERSIAN UNREST.
IUUIAIN ASKED TO INTERFERE. Teheran, July 17. Sata Khan, leader of the Constitutional Party, is defending two quarters of Tabriz against the forces of Rakhim Khan, who hold the rest of the city. Sata Khan is appealing to Britain for help, urging that, as she was instrumental in obtaining the constitution for Persia, she ought to assist in maintaining it.
RAKHIM WITHDRAWS. SHAII'S SUPPORTERS ROBBED. Received 19, 4.15 p.m. Teheran, July 18. The Elders in the chief quarters at Taliriss agreed on concerted action against the Government forces. Priests harangued the crowds, and thousands of citizens proceeded to Rakhim Khan's headquarters and threatened a Holy War unless he withdrew. Rakhim, without waiting- to parley, withdrew bis horsemen to the suburbs. Tlie mob thereupon looted the residences of the Sluih's wealthiest supporters. Many of Rakhim's horsemen, becoming isolated in the town, were killed, and the majority of the infantry melted away into the crowd of civilians.
