"Pass them down," said a man in the audience, 'and the treasured tools "wore Landed round. "You see." went; on the candidate, "1 was once a working man like yourselves, and 1 hope 1 may count upon your support." "Indeed you may.' 1 .cried a workman, in tones of deepest admiration. '• A man who could lay bricks with \ ' carpenter's hammer and a gardener's trowel must Ik* more than ordinarily clever."
