HEALTH OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

SOCIETY FORMED AT NAPIER. Per Press Association. Napier, Last Night. A public meeting was held this artenoon in connection with the formation in Napier of a branch of a society fat, the promoting of the health of women and children. The Mayor (Mr. J. Vigor Brown) presided, and there was a largo attendance of ladies. Representatives of the medical profession were also present. The Governor and Lady PlnnJcc* attended. Lady Plunket read a pap-r ■ on the objects of the society, and Lord Plunket was one of the speakers. Among contributions received towards the work of the society was one of £IOO from Mr. J. Vigor Brown and one of £3O from Mr. E. W. Knowlcs. His Excellency, on behalf of Lady Plunket and the society, thanked the Napier peopl ; for the sympathy they had shown with the movement.
