PRISONER RECAPTURED.

In 'peetor Ciillen received a wire from Constable Flanagan, of Hunua, stating that the convict William Smith, who made a sensational escape by leaping from the Ilatonia express last Fridav, had been re-captured near DrurV tdi'is afternoon by Warder .Richards and a civilian named Frank Oltway. u -ii -' LatCT ' Smith wa H surprised by the warder and civilian as he emerged from the scrub on to Hunua road, about lifty yards ahead of them, and the pursuers, being on horseback, easily succeeded in running him down. He was, however, not captured without a struggle, and Warder liiehards had to draw his revolver hnkn-c Smith would submit to be liandculled.
