Per Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. ' Joseph Coddoi, owner of the launch MataUauae, which, fatally collided with the Lady Roberts in the lower harbor on the night of Easter Saturday, was committed for trial by Mr. WiddowsDn, S.M., on a charge of manslaughter. Mr. Hay, for accused, contended that an error of judgment, which was the findino of the coroner's jury, could not be made a ground for a charge of manslaughter. Napier, Last Night. I John .Simpson, alias (icorgc Aletoombe, alias AleX.'nire, pleaded guilty at tin. Magistrate's Court to-day to charges of forgery and uttering and false pretences, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
