Patrons of the Axemen's Carnival on Thursday and Friday will be pleased to know that William Weston, the popular Australian underhand champion axe- j man, will again be competing at Ellham this year. Jly his sterling performances in Australia and at Danncvirke last Xew Year's Day, when he cut through an 18-inch log in underhand style In 1 mill lOsec, establishing a newrecord, Weston has proved himself to he an axeman of the highest rank. The contests between Weston and dozens of Australians and Xew Zealand champions should be worth going miles to sec. A spocial train will leave Xew Plymouth at !).:!(> a.m. on Boxing Day, arriving at Kltham at 11.50 a.m.
