HIBERNIAN SOCIETY.

The half-yearly meeting of the 11.A.C.8.5. was held in the Society rooms last Dight. There was a large attendance, Mr J. J. Sullivan, vice-pre-sident, presiding, in the absence of Mr Geo. Grey. The meeting discussed "The Stage Irishman" at some length, ami the feeling was expressed tliat the slanders cast upon the Irish nation through this medium should cease. At next meeting of the Society some definite steps will be taken to bring about his extinction, or at least to modify his upi pearanee in such a way as not to be insulting the Irishmen in the Dominion. The question of Irish immigration J will alro lie discussed at next meeting. Officers were elected: President, Bro. ■T. .1. Sullivan; vice-president, Bro. -T. A. CI irk: treasurer. Bro. S.
