Melbourne, December 10. Mr. Ross, Canadian Commissioner, has received a cable from the Canadian Government stating that the subsidy for the Canadian-Australian steamer line was not included in the Estimates. However, the contract, the message stages, has not been cancelled. The fear is expressed that the Canadian lino k of doubtful value under present conditions. . *■
