AGRICULTURAL SHOWS.
Per Press Association. Gore, Last Night. The/Core show opened to-day, when sheep, cattle, and several minor sections were judged. The cattle were poor in point of numbers, but the sheep were an exceptionally strong feature, numbers and quality being well represented. In Border Leicesters, A. Murdoch secured the champion ram prize, and McKerchar | Bros, the champion ewe; Border Leicester, McKerchar Bros.; ram and ewe, Komneys, \V. J. Johnston and W. Kankin; Downs, \V. J. Johnston; merino, W. J. Johnston; Corriedale, Stringfellow's executors; crossbred, James Burnett. To-day the horses will be judged. The Hon. Mr. MeNab and Messrs. W. Praser and Malcolm, M.H.R.'s, will be present. Invercargill, Last Night. The only problematical essential to the success of the summer show on Tuesday and Wednesday next is fine weather. The number of entries from beyond Invercargill far exceeds that of any former year, and exliibits will be present from numerous districts, including Christchurch. The Premier and- the Ministers for Lands and Labor have accepted invitations to be present. The competition is expected to be very keen.
