INQUESTS.
Ter Press Association. Wellington, Last' Night. An inquest was held to-day. concerning the death of Frederick Barrett, of Levin, which resulted •from injuries re* ceived by the explosion of an acetylene gas generator at his residence last June. The evidence failed to Bhow how the explosion occurred, and a verdict; of accidental death was returned. An inquest took place to-day touching the death of John Patrick McGowan, a baker, 57 years of age, whose body was found in Wellington harbor on Sunday morning. When deceased's clothing was searched; a Post Office Savings Bank book was found showing he had drawn £8 on Friday. He was last seen alive at 8.30 on Saturday night, w]ien he wgs refused 'a bed because he was gpmewlM nnder the influence of liquor. A verdict of "found drowned'-* was Returned-
