CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Per Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. The Chamber of Commerce committee to-day received President Watson's report re the deputation to the Premier on the subject of terminal charges at shipping ports, and decided, "That while the Chamber still thinks that no profits should be made on the actual cost of overtime (9d) at seaports, they hope that as he had promised the deputation to look into it, the Premier would sea his way to reduce rates to Is per hour." The committee also considered the Food Monopoly Prevention Bill, and decided to telegraph the following to the Premier:—'"This Chamber trusts that the Bill will not be passed, as memßers consider it undesirable and impracticable."
