The 'i'aranaki championship meeting was held here in J unary last, under the management of the club, and resulted ill a profit of Xt Its Ud, which went to the club's funds. At the conclusion of the tournament, the club's courts were the scene of the second inter-pro vincial match between Auckland and Taranaki. Taranaki won the banner. During the season three inter-club matches were played—two ag.iinst Waverlcy (1 win, 1 loss), and the other against Stratford (a win). The committee records the club's hearty thanks to JJis. Leathain, Home, and Fookes, Mr and Mrs C. W. Govett, Messrs L. Hansen, A. L. Cooke, K. J. Deare, and A. S. Hassell, for contributing towards tournament prizes, etc.; and also to the ladies who provided afternoon teas throughout the season. The rules have recently been revised, and several material alterations are recommended.
