Per Press Association. Auckland, Monday. A dead body found at Rangitoto Island s been identilied as that of a remit-
nce man, Frederick Stanley Sprccklay,
nightwatchniau on the schooner Kaeo. He had been missing since Monday last, Monday. Mrs. McNcight, sen., was drowned in the Totara river. While she was crossing the-iriver in a trap with her husband a trace broke and the vehicle capsized. The old lady disappeared. The husband searched for her till he collapsed.. The body has not been found. . Auckland, Monday.
Elvio Kelly, seventeen months old, daughter of Mrs. Mary Kelly, of Jervoisroad, Ponsonby, died ou Sunday as the result of sucking the heads off some wax matches.
Lyttelton, Monday. The body of an unknown man, too decomposed for recognition, was found in the harbor this morning. Apparently, the deceased was a middle-aged man. Christchureh, Last Night. The body found floating in Lyttelton harbor this morning has been identified as that of Frederick Ernest Coulter, formerly a seaman on the Cygnet. Blenheim, Monday. Margaret Jones, married, aged 29, was found dead at Faber's House, Eai Valley, with a pea ride alongside her body. She is supposed to have committed suicide. She leaves several young children. AA 7 elington, Last Night. A sixteen-year-old child named Jessie Cordon died at its father's home, Taita, yesterday. Four weeks ago the child spilled a mug of boiling water over its chest. It seemed to be getting on all right, but it now seems thSt inflammation from the burn went inward and penetrated to the lungs. Dnnedin, Last Night. George Smith, aged 74, a shipwright, of Kensington, was fatally injured c.t Port Chalmers at 5.3D o'tloek to-night. During some railway shunting operations he was knocked down and run over by a truck, both his legs being crushed. He was removed to the hospital, and died about 0 o'clock.
