THE HOLIDAY QUESTION.
Per Press Association. • Wellington, Last Night. There is a movement on foot to observe all holidays except Christmas, Now Vear's Day, and Easter on Mondayß. The Industrial Association has passed ft resolution to that effect, and some desire to go even further, and lump all odd holidays together in one period, say at Christinas, which, it is said, is done in some parts of England. Neither idea, however, meets with unanimous favor. The president of the Employers' Federation, so far from agreeing with the Industrial Association, is emphatic that Monday wouldjbe the very worst day to select in Wellington. The idea of a carnival week meets with more acceptance, only it is pointed out that Wellington has nothing to make a carnival of at present. In fact, it is "worse off in this respect than almost any other town of consequence in the Dominion.
