A CONVICT IN TROUBLE.

Per Press Association. Chris tchurch, Last Night. Phillip Kissell, a prisoner serving a ten years' sentence for attempted rape, appeared before Mr. H. W. Bishop, S.M., this morning, at the Lyttelton Gaol, charged with attempting to escape from the prison gang at Governor's Bay last month. The prisoner was given the usual option of being dealt with summarily or being tried by a jury, but refused to> make pny intelligible remarks, and the gaoler stated that he was feigning insanity. The Magistrate adjourned the case for a fortnight.
