He was unseated on account 61 of alleged irregularities, and the Parlia- ri ment elected Mr. O'Loughlin in his <' stead, though 3lr. Vardon maintained that another popular election should take place. The unseating of Mr. Vardon was largely due to the statement that a parcel of voting-papers had been burned. A surprise was created a short time ago by the discovery of the papers alleged to have been burned!]
