A MINING DISASTER.
CAGE PALLS 700' FEET. Received Sept. 22, 4.46 p.m. New York, September 21. A cage containing seventeen miners was being hauled up the shaft of a mine attached to Jones and McLaughlin's steelworks at Michigan, when, through iome of the gear giving way, it fell 700 ft to the bottom.
