ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Wellington, Friday. In regard to the death of the unknown man whose body was found on the snore of Wnirarapa Lake, there was suspicion of foul play. Detective Broberg was sent to investigate. He has satisfied himself that death was due to drowning. At the inquest a verdict of found drowned was returned. Cambridge, Friday. To-day a workman named Oscar Sevoy fell from a staging on a high-level bridge to the river bank—a drop of 60ft. He is suffering from severe injuries to the spine and neck Auckland, Friday. At Mangere last Friday Stanley Hayward, a youth of 17 years, stood *>a a rusty nail, which entered his foot. The yoi'.th died of tetanus at the hospital to-day. Botorua, Friday. Mr. C Doust, overseer for H. R. Benn, near Lake Tikitapu, left home yesterday to go pig-hunting, and did not return. He was found to-day shot through the head, apparently accidentally. Deceased was much respected. His parent* reside in New South Wales. One of the search-party was thrown from his horse and badly bruised and cut.
