INDECENT ASSAULT.
Per Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. Thoiuas Scator, a little over sixteen years of age, was charged at Lumsdcn with attempted rape on a girl of nine years. The charge was altered to one of indecent assault. The evidence for tho prosecution was to the effect that the girl was returning home after going a message, and passed accused, who dragged her into the tussocks and committed the offence. Medical examination' showed that no damage was done. Eventually the charge was further amended to one of common assault. Accused was committed for trial, and bail of £IOO allowed.
