INQUESTS.
Per Press Association. Auckland, August 14. An inquest was held to-day on .William lleares, an employee of the Municipal Council, who was injured by the premature explosion of a blasting charge in the Council's quarry. He was doing well in the hospital, when blood poisoning set in, and death resulted. A verdict of accidental death was returned. Wellington, August 14. An inquest was held to-day on the body ol a man found in the harbor yesterday. A verdict was returned of found drowned, and that iusuftieieut evidence of identification was available, but Die jury was of the opinion that the body was that of one Joseph Ormond. I
SCAFFOLDING REGULATIONS. Per Press Association. Wellington, August 14. The Hon. J. A. Millar, Minister of Labor, was asked by a Trades and Labor deputation,, to-night for. more stringent regulations regarding the use of scaffolding. ■ He promised to go with an inspector and see for himself what was required.
