DISTRICTS HIGH SCHOOLS.

Per Press Association. I Duuediu, August 14. At a meeting of the Education Board to-day ""a communication was received from the .Department, stating that it was proposed to disrate the Palmerston and Hampden district high schools on account of the decrease in the attendances. The proposal was received with much disfavor, members expressing the opinion that the Government regulations were killing district high schools. It was decided to reply, stating that the communications would receive serious consideration, but pointing out that, in the Board's opinion, the Department's own regulations were mainly the cause of the non-success of district high schools.
