STARVED HERSELF TO DEATH.

A MISERLY WOMAN. Per Press Association. Dunedin, August 13. A widow woman, named Mary Gurney, aged 75 years, who resided by herself, was found dead in her house in Cumberland street on Monday evening. She was in very good circumstances, but appears to have deliberately denied herself every comfort, and to have starved herself. An inquest was held to-day, and a verdict of death from voluntary starvation was returned.
