INCOME TAX RETURNS.
A WARNING. Per Press Association. Wellington, August 13. The Land-Income Tax Department is experiencing considerable difficulty in 'jetting in its returns from those people I liable to assessment under this Act. As a result, much inconvenience is caused Jo the Department in completing its returns; Some people appear to take no notice of circulars requiring them to forward tho necessary particulars. The Commissioner scarcely desires to go to the extreme of issuing a large batch of summonses, but this course will have to be taken unless there is a more speedy reply. Neglect to furnish returns is punishable by a fine of not of not less , than £2 and not exceeding £IOO.
